************************************************************ Being brought up in a very strict Christian household, I have to admit.... I was afraid of the Tarot and Oracle cards initially. I was taught as a child to believe that Tarot and psychic readers was "the work of the Devil". (Pretty silly belief now that I look back on it.) It wasn't until around 1997 when I had arrived at a woman's home in Warwick, Rhode Island to present a candle demonstration for her... that I learned the true meaning of the Tarot and Oracle cards. At the end of the presentation, when all the guests had left, this woman asked me... "Would you like a reading?" I nervously replied, "Oh, no... I don't believe in that sort of thing... but thank you." She then asked me a question. It was a question that I could not dispute, and it was a question I would never forget. She said, "If you have never experienced a reading..... how can you claim to not believe in it? In other words, how can you judge something you have never experienced yourself?" WOW!!! She was so right! I tried to think of a come-back response... but was left facing myself with nothing to go on. I had been judging some thing based on hearsay from other people. I was believing a belief handed down to me by other people with no personal experience in that belief. People filled with religious fear (handed down generation after generation) regarding a topic they knew nothing about and had never tried to understand. Hmmm... how many other topics of belief do we do this with? How many things do we just "assume" we know or believe just because someone (or the media) said something to us (or persuaded us to believe in)..... yet we have zero personal experience on the topic of belief or assumption? That Tarot reader (one of the oldest and best Tarot readers in Rhode Island) ended up becoming my teacher and my mentor for years. I studied the Tarot with her for weeks and months on end. At the end of my teachings, I went to her home on that last day of class with a gorgeous bouquet of Sunflowers (Sunflowers represent Spirit)... thanking her for teaching me and helping to open up my conscious awareness to the fact that there is so much more to this life than we can see or even imagine.... and for teaching me to understand that we are never truly alone. The eyes and ears of Spirit are all around us, and they can see and hear (and feel) everything. There are Spirit / Angels / Energy all around us that we can connect with when we need help in the form of guidance and direction. All we have to do is ASK. For the past 15 years on and off, I have been reading Tarot and oracle cards for people. The accuracy of tarot and oracle cards amazes me still to this day. The way the cards can arrange themselves and have my intuition pick up on what needs to be heard at that moment in time..... sometimes its so spot on... it's incredible. I truly believe there are Higher Powers / Higher Energies that are sincerely trying to help guide us along our life path, help us recognize our callings and help us to understand or see the lessons for spiritual growth and evolution. All we have to do is seek and/or request the help. Ask... and you shall receive. |
